在考研英语中，阅读定位句和翻译中经常会出现长难句，到底该怎么断句以及怎么翻译呢?英语和汉语不一样，不能词的顺序一个一个翻译。需要先断句，理清句子结构，将一个长的句子可以断成好几部分。先翻译每一部分，然后再整合起来。那么在整合的过程中势必就会出现调整语序。比如，定语从句、状语从句的翻译以及短语做定语的情况。

例2：They found that people working with robots //that showed vulnerability //spent more time talking with their fellow humans //than did those in the control groups.
【主干】 They found +宾语从句。
【修饰成分】 that people working with robots that showed vulnerability spent more time talking with their fellow humans than did those in control groups 是宾语从句，主干为 people spent more time talking with their fellow humans。working with robots 是 V-ing 短语作后置定语， 修饰 people。that showed vulnerability 是定语从句， 修饰 robots。than 后的部分发生了完全倒装，正常语序应为 those in the control groups did， 其中， those 指代的是 people， did 是对 spent time talking with their fellow humans 的替换。
【翻译】他们发现，与示弱机器人一起玩游戏的参与者比对照组的参与者花更多时间与其人类同伴交谈。
